The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers through the New York State Council of Machinists is offering a scholarship opportunity for families of union members pursuing higher education.
Each year, this program helps support the educational goals of students connected to Machinists union members by providing financial assistance for college or vocational training.
Scholarship Details
For 2026, the Council will award four scholarships of $500 each. The scholarships are open to students attending accredited colleges, universities, or vocational schools.
Who Can Apply
Students may apply if they are the:
- Child
- Stepchild
- Grandchild
- Step-grandchild
of an eligible Machinists union member or retiree.
How to Apply
To receive an application and information package, applicants must request it from the Council. There are two ways to do this:

Application Deadline
Completed scholarship applications must be received by Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Scholarship winners will be selected during the New York State Council of Machinists Convention, which will take place April 26–28, 2026.
