Dear Guide Dogs of America Supporter:
As you all know, the District 15 and Guide Dogs of America family suffered the tremendous loss of our good friend and mentor, James Conigliaro, Sr. on January 24, 2026, Jimmy has been the heart and soul of the District 15 Guide Dogs of America/Tender Loving Canine fundraising efforts since 1998, when District 15 hosted the 1st Annual Golf Outing. Year after year, Jimmy would strive to consistently surpass the golf outing fundraising goals and eventually started brainstorming new ideas to help raise money for this wonderful organization.
Since Jimmy enjoyed a good cigar and a nice bottle of scotch, a Cigar Party made perfect sense! In April 2010, Jimmy’s good friends at “Michael’s of Brooklyn Restaurant”, opened their banquet room for what would be the first of many successful Guide Dogs of America Cigar Parties.
We would like to announce that moving forward, the Annual District 15 Cigar Party, will now be renamed the “James (Jimmy) Conigliaro Memorial Guide Dogs of America/Tender Loving Canines Cigar Party”, in honor of our amazing friend.
We hope you can all join us and the Conigliaro Family on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Dyker Beach Golf Course in Brooklyn for this special evening.
