John Scarfi Scholarship Fund
John Scarfi served as Directing Business Representative from 1991 to 2003 and was an outstanding visionary and leader throughout his time, negotiating high wages and well-deserved benefits for District 15’s members. John truly bettered the lives of thousands of working families across the Northeast.
District 15 created the John Scarfi Scholarship Fund to benefit the children and grandchildren of District 15’s members exclusively.
Application Deadline: September 1, 2026
Application Requirements:
- Applicant must be a child or grandchild of the District 15 IAMAW Union or a member themselves
- Must have two years of continuous good-standing membership through the closing date of the competition, which is Sept 1, 2026.
- May apply either when entering college or vocational/technical school as a freshman or at a higher level with some college credits already completed.
- Applicants are eligible for a scholarship one time only.
- If chosen, the winner must provide proof of enrollment in the school of their choice.
